Poll time again. The most popular features from our last poll have now shipped, including advanced tables, drag and drop, contacts integration, attachment search, Send to Agenda, the Apple Watch app, and Ask Agenda. So here is a fresh list of what could come next.

Describe a search in plain language and have Agenda create the search
Smarter AI: auto-tag notes, file them into projects, and summarise a whole project
Edit the rules of existing Smart Overviews, and organise overviews into categories
Callouts showing sections of other notes, and comments in the editor
Audio recording in notes, with transcription
Sync options beyond iCloud, such as Nextcloud, Proton Drive or WebDAV, keeping your data local-first and yours

For me… because this annoys me all the day… : being able to delete a reminder in Agenda AND in Apple’s Reminders by simply deleting the reminder icon with the delete key.
(I know what is written down in the doc…but I cannot imagine the use case of deleting a reminder in Agenda BUT NOT in Apple’s Reminder…)
Exactly why we have the disclaimer. And there are things which we are thinking about which can’t really be conveyed in a poll (ie they are not faster horses )
iOS and Apple Watch user here - no Mac. The Send to Agenda from email… Why needs a Mac to activate it? I mean, Drafts, Things3, TickTick and even Todoist has this feature without the need of a Mac. Could you add this without the need of a Mac? Please!
Voted but also looking forward to have visual enhancement on code block as I am a developer, now it is hard for me to distinguish the code block and text even with the syntax hightlight. Need some special styling (e.g. block etc.) to make it distinct from the other content.
Thanks, that’s a good point. Making code blocks visually distinct from the surrounding text, beyond just the syntax highlighting, is a fair request, especially as a developer where you’re looking at them a lot. I’ll take it along and see what we can do to set them apart more clearly.
If Chat Control gets approved in the EU, it’d be nice to have an easier way to back up and restore our local data so we can keep using the app without syncing.
I think the current proposal is only about chat and messaging apps, but who knows what comes next.
Either way, it’d be a nice feature to have. I guess WebDav would be enough to get control of our data?
The good news is that Agenda is local-first: your notes are stored on the device itself, and syncing is purely an add-on, so the app keeps working fine with sync turned off. On a Mac, the whole library is also included in a standard backup like Time Machine.
As for WebDAV, it is one of the recurring requests for extra sync backends. The tricky part is that everyone wants a different one, and Agenda’s sync isn’t file-based (it has to do conflict resolution and merging of changes), so each backend is a big job rather than a small add-on.
Yes. And I’d add that real-time synchronization with encrypted repositories like Kdrive or ProtonDrive isn’t highly recommended for apps like Agenda or Obsidian.
Notes often need a journal to keep, share many things, and help other notes!
Ok, a few re-requested, needed features left behind due to the base building phase. One being a per-note popup text box for project level notations/comments. Each text box, owned by its respective note would be combined for a project level view accessible from other categories/projects.
Notes and projects get lonely and stagnate when they can’t easily stay in touch! Enhanced links. I get a nose bleed from how high and long on my list they have been. Selectable, in-line link previews are at the top of that list.
Notes have a need to know their neighbors and friends!
Tied with the above is a visibly useable related links section, opened from/in the note when needed (normally closed). One level of child links would be a plus; link(s) to/from the current note show its direct links.
