Some attachments with longer titles only show the first 1 or 2 words. It seems to be a limited number of characters and believe the agenda standard, so not a bug.
Edit:
Changed the title here to “15.08.2024”. Nothing is displayed:
So this was working fine for you before the update?
Agenda does truncate titles, which could explain some of the shortening.
A name like “JPEG” may cause issues, I guess, because it is also the file extension of a file type, ie a jpeg file. Perhaps that is confusing things.
BTW, have you seen this on other platforms like iPhone or Mac? I just tested on my Mac, and it seems to work OK there. I will try to test on an iPad later.
I’m sure it was still working in July. But I can’t say exactly when it stopped working.

I know that.
Only the titles that are longer seem to be shown at the moment. Short titles with only 1 word are invisible. If I reduce long and visible (shortened) titles with several words to 1 word, the title is then invisible.

Title JPEG was only for testing. It doesn’t matter which title I enter.
But if there is this title restriction in Agenda, then that is another and further problem. Why am I not allowed to name a file e.g. JPEG.jpg?
BTW, have you seen this on other platforms like iPhone or Mac?
No, can only test this on the iPad and iPhone.
Here is another example with a picture from an older note.
It’s very odd. I just tested on my iPhone and Mac, and both worked fine with single words like JPEG and Image.
I wonder if it could be due to your language setting, or perhaps a setting like text size? It looks like you are using German, correct? Do you have the default text size?
Of course. That is what I was trying to say. If it works that way, it is a bug that needs fixing. We would certainly not deliberately make it work that way
We will try to figure out what is going on. Please let us know if you discover any more clues.
I actually changed the preferred language for Agenda several times on the iPhone 2-3 weeks ago. However, the text size has not changed.
I was a little surprised that I couldn’t find the preferred language setting for Agenda on the iPad at this point.
I installed the Rocket Typist app on July 3 and tested it for 2-3 weeks. Then removed it on the iPhone, but also forgot to do this on the iPad. I have now also removed this app from the iPad.
I also restarted the iPad, but the problem remained.
However, I have been using the system’s own text replacement for a long time (Settings-> Keyboards-> Text replacement).
I have to say that this display of attachments in my notes is not so relevant for me. There are also 2 other options that still work.
But it can be exciting if the bug remains after the update to the next version.
I hear you. We haven’t been able to reproduce the bug, which makes it very difficult to fix. If you do think of something that might be relevant, please let us know. Some text setting that people don’t typically use, an accessibility setting, or something like that.
Yes, that’s how we do it. I’ll let you know when I have something new.
One more question. Could reinstalling the Agenda app on a device solve the problem, or would that have no positive effect? I would do it then, but also don’t want to get other problems (e.g. iCloud sync) afterwards.
If I change the font to Avenir Next (default) on the iPad in Agenda settings, the titles are visible again on both devices. This also applies to all default fonts except “Atkinson Hyperlegible”.
The font “Atkinson Hyperlegible” is the first problem.
I actually think it’s very good and activated it immediately after implementation, so it’s been a while.
However, there are also other problems with the “Thumbnail and title” display.
changed the font on the iPad to Default in the Agenda settings
the setting is synchronized after 3-5s on the iPhone. (My wish would be not to change this )
the font is then the same on both devices, but not for the titles of the thumbnails.
only when I re-edit a title on the iPhone, the font is then only adjusted for that.
changing the font on the iPhone corrects the font of all titles again
See an example here.
I can see this on the iPad immediately after changing the font:
…and this is what I see on the iPhone after I have edited the title above.
I previously changed the font on the iPhone several times for testing purposes.
The font of the titles in the middle and at the bottom hangs until the font is changed again on the iPhone.
The second problem is the synchronization of the Agenda font settings.
Ok. I now also understand why I could see the titles in some old notes. I still typed them in the default font.
What I don’t understand is why it feels like the new font (AtkH) has only been causing problems since July. I’ve been using it on the iPhone for a long time and I didn’t notice the problems before.
I hope my report is understandable and I can help you with it!
Reinstalling Agenda on the Mac will typically not change anything. Reinstalling on iOS will remove your local data, and you will have to download everything from iCloud again, so I don’t recommend it.
It seems likely indeed that the font setting is related here. That is an odd font. I have a feeling it was added for a specialized group of customers, like people with dyslexia, but I’m not sure. Perhaps it has issues that could cause this, given it is not a standard font.
I did some testing on macOS. When I changed the font, it did change the font immediately in the thumbnails as well, which is the intention. So seemed to work for me. Are you saying it didn’t properly change for you? Was it when it synced the change over that it didn’t refresh properly?
Update: just tested, and indeed I see what you mean. When syncing the setting over, the thumbnails are not refreshing. This is a bug, and we will fix it in an upcoming release. Thanks for reporting it!
In the end, we concluded that the font choice was the issue, correct? It’s a not standard font, not installed by default on device.
And the issue you have is purely on iPhone? Or do you see it on iPad and macOS?
I may get a chance to look at this. Perhaps the font is not installing properly. Worse case scenario is that it is installed OK, but that there is some problem in the font file causing the layout to fail.
Yes, such errors are not so easy to explain. It is sometimes very tedious.
I think the main problem is the synchronization of the font setting. I generally find it strange to synchronize this setting at all. For example, I would like to use a different font on the iPhone than on the iPad. Agenda does not allow this. Why?
I have rechecked the problem and it affects multiple fonts. It often depends on where I change the font, on the iPhone or iPad. I don’t use MacOS (yet).
These fonts generally cause problems on both devices and in all possible constellations:
Atkinson Hyperlegible
Courier
Helvetica
Palatino
I have not yet discovered any problems with the default and system font. For this reason, I now only use Avenir Next (default).
