Gestures on iOS

Sidebar

  • Long tap to show the edit menu for a project or category.
  • Pinch to collapse or expand a category.
  • Tap and Hold to drag and move a project.
  • Slide categories to the left to access the options.

Projects

  • Tap the category title to show the list of projects.
  • Tap the project title to show the table of contents and sort options.
  • Long press to edit the project title.

Header

  • Long press the name of the project above the notes on iOS to trigger Open Quickly.

Plus Button

  • Long press the plus button to insert a new note using a template.

Notes

  • Pinch or double-tap the title area to collapse or expand a note.
  • Pinch-to-zoom to open the note in a new window
  • Long press in the title area to drag and move a note.
    You can drag a note:
    • to a different position within the project.
    • to the top of the project in order to pin it to the top (premium feature).
    • to a project in the sidebar in order to move it to that project.
    • onto a calendar event in the related panel on the right in order to link it to the event.
    • to another app in split view.
  • Long press a link in a selected note to show a menu with options.

Attachments

  • Long press and release to preview the attachment
  • Double-tap to preview.

Tags

  • Double-tap to open the tag manager.

Related

  • Long press an event to drag and move.
    You can drag an event:
    • into the notes area to create a new note linked to the event.
    • onto a note to link the note to the dragged event.
    • onto a project in the sidebar to create a new note linked to the event in that project.

Keyboard Bar

  • Long press the plus button to trigger the action menu (inserts a \ in the text).

Panels

  • Swipe the panel splitters or note list horizontally to show or hide the sidebar and related panels.

Sidebar

  • Double-click to edit the title of a project.
  • Alt/Option (⌥)-click to open the item in a separate window.

Projects

  • Click the category title to show the list of projects.

  • Double-click or second click to edit the project title.

Plus Button

  • Click and hold the plus button to insert a new note using a template.

Notes

  • Double-click the title area to collapse or expand a note.
  • Alt/Option (⌥)-click the Open in Window button to open the note in fullscreen.
  • Shift + Alt/Option (⌥)-click the Open in Window button to make the window stay on top.
  • ⌘-click the note header to open the note in a separate window.
  • ⌘⌥-click the note header to open the note in fullscreen.

Inspector and Table of Contents/Open Quickly

  • Alt/Option (⌥)-click a note to open the note in a separate window.

Attachments

  • Alt/Option (⌥) -click to Quicklook the attachment.
  • Double-Click to open the attachment in its default external editor.

Tags

  • Alt/Option (⌥) -click to search for the tag
  • Double-Click to open the tag manager.

Tag Manager

  • Alt/Option (⌥) -click the loupe icon to search for the tag in the current project only
  • Hold Alt/Option (⌥) key to switch from Create Smart Overview to Open Overview in Window.

Dock Icon

  • Click to bring the main window to the front

It will be nice if you bring multiple selections gestures to iOS.
