Ask Agenda - AI Assistant

Agenda includes an AI assistant called Ask Agenda that lets you pose questions about your notes in everyday language. Ask Agenda uses Apple Intelligence and runs entirely on your device — your notes are never sent to the cloud.

Note: Ask Agenda requires iOS 26 or macOS 26 and a device that supports Apple Intelligence.

Getting Started

To open Ask Agenda, tap the assistant button next to the search icon at the top of the notes list. From there you can start asking questions about your notes right away.

Asking Questions

You can pose questions to Ask Agenda using natural, everyday language. For example, you might ask things like:

  • “What did I write about the project meeting last week?”
  • “Which notes mention the budget?”
  • “What are my notes from January?”

Ask Agenda will search through your notes and provide an answer. Replies include links to the most relevant notes, so you can tap a link to jump straight to the source material.

Tip: You get better results when you include more important terms in your question, because they are used to find the most relevant notes to answer it. For example, “What were the key decisions at the Neptune project meeting?” will give more focused results than “What happened at the meeting?”

Limiting by Date Range

You can limit your queries to a specific time period. For example, you can ask about notes from “last month”, “this week”, or any other date range you specify. This is especially useful if you have a large library of notes and want to focus on a particular period.

Follow-up Questions

After receiving an answer, you can pose follow-up questions to dig deeper or refine the results, making it easy to have a back-and-forth conversation about the information in your notes.

Premium: Follow-up questions are a premium feature, available only upon purchase.

Privacy

Ask Agenda is powered by Apple Intelligence and runs entirely on your device. Your notes and questions are not sent to any external server or cloud service. Everything stays private on your Mac, iPhone, or iPad.

Tip: If you want to use more powerful AI tools like Claude with your Agenda notes, you can do so via the MCP integration on macOS. Note that unlike Ask Agenda, data accessed through MCP can potentially be uploaded to external servers.
