My annual subscription just renewed today. Is there a way to switch it to lifetime today?
You would have to cancel the subscription, and then buy the lifetime. There is no direct upgrade.
You can probably contact Apple to get a refund for the new payment. You purchased via Apple’s App Store, so if you want a refund, you have to request one from Apple. They processed the payment. Please visit Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple - Apple Support
After that, you could purchase lifetime by holding the option key and choosing Window > Premium. Under “View All Plans” you can find the lifetime purchase.
