Orange and red are repeated as colours for app accents. May I ask why? Or is this a bug simply no one cares about? Or are my eyes mistaken? How about instead yellow and lime?

You mean for category color or in the preferences? For the latter we follow the colors Apple has picked in the system preferences.
Right, as mentioned we follow Apple’s macOS options here:
Note that the two “oranges” are actually orange and yellow, and the two “reds” are actually red and pink. We’ll try to make them appear in the same order as on mac that makes it a bit more clear perhaps.
