Has it always been the case that the settings for displaying tags and people on one device are taken over by the other?

No, this is new in Agenda 17
Hadn’t noticed until I decided I wanted different settings between devices.
Fonts (but not text size and spacing) and the style of tags, checklist behaviour etc is something we would expect people would want to be consistent across devices.
Well, then you’re in for a surprise. 
But it’s not a big deal.

So far you’re the first who noticed, but we’ll keep an eye out on how many would want to differentiate between devices.
