What I did: I just got Agenda Premium again. Then I turned on Advanced Data Protection (ADP) on all 3 devices. Then I set syncing between devices to iCloud (E2E Encrypted).
What happened: syncing between iPhone SE2, iPhone 13 and iPad Air 3, all with the latest iOS update, did not work.
What I expected: I expected it to work. Sync also does not work with simple iCloud. The only thing that works is syncing using Dropbox.
Correction of above paragraph: I later managed to get sync via iCloud working but still not iCloud with E2E encryption.
Addition to original post: Can it be that iCloud E2E encryption is not available in my country (which is Austria)? I’ve researched online and it seems that this encryption has been rolled out to every country?
Things that might be helpful to know (Agenda version, OS and model, etc):
Agenda version 19.0
iPhone SE2 with iOS 17.5.1
iPhone 13 with iOS 17.5.1
iPad Air 3 with iPadOS 17.5.1
Thank you cause I’d much rather use iCloud E2E Encrypted than Dropbox to sync.

I think Advanced Data Protection should work. It can be a bit tricky to setup, and the first sync by Agenda can take a while, because it has to upload all the data again.
Each device needs to be on ADP, and each device needs to select the same sync option in Agenda. It might be wise to restart each device to make sure everything goes through OK.
You could then check that other apps (eg Apple Notes) are syncing OK.
If all that is working, it is probably just a question of waiting. If you see clouds moving over the islands button, it is still actively syncing the data.
Usually, this is simply a case of giving the device enough time to upload/download the data. You could hold Agenda in the foreground for a while, just stopping your device from going to sleep, to give it time. If you don’t want to to have to constantly keep the device from “sleeping”, you can turn off the Autolock in the Settings.
Repeat this on each device, letting it sync for around 20 minutes. Usually that will allow everything to upload and download, and it will be fast after that.
Note that you can see if it is syncing by looking for the clouds crossing the islands icon (or flashing cloud icon) at the bottom of the right panel. It appears when there is sync activity. On the Mac, this appears top-right in the window.
Hi Drew,
thank for your fast reply!
With ADP on, Apple Notes syncs across my iPhones but Agenda does not sync across devices with E2E encryption setting turned on on both iPhones.
How do I get it to work? Any tipps?
Thank you in advance

So you switched the sync engine in the Agenda settings to the iCloud Encrypted one? On both devices?
It might be worth clearing any cloud data. You would do that by switching off the sync, removing the data when asked, and then switching it back on again.
Hi Drew,
I might have done so before but now it has finally worked!
Thank you very much!

Great! Sorry for the trouble.
Never try to sync Agenda E2E. This could result in terrible data confusion. Drew, you just helped me out of such a problem.
There should not be any confusion. The issue is that if you switch the E2E, Agenda has to reupload and resync all the data. This can take a while. That’s the main issue.
