Shortcut Help

Hello,

New agenda user here. I’m a long timer Bear user, and love that app. However I’m seeing a lot of advantages to using Agenda. One thing that Bear has been really useful at is grabbing the contents of a webpage. I don’t see that so much in Agenda, though it would be nice. In the meantime I’ve built a shortcut to do that for me.

However, no matter what I do, I cannot get the text of the article into Agenda except in the Title portion. Here is my latest workflow to show what happens, the title is repeated in the text body of agenda. And unless I ask agenda to only grab the body in the Title, it never imports the article body. I’ve tried this without calling assigning the text to a variable and just using the existing aritlcle “body” function. I only set the variable because I thought it was having trouble calling it from the clipboard. But the result is the same if I elimiate this step in the workflow.

If I just leave agenda out of the equation all together and grab the contents, storing it to the clipboard, I can just paste it in to the agenda entry. Which is fine, but it defeats the whole purpose of automation. It seems like it should be able to do this, and it’s either a bug…or I’m lacking some understanding about agenda and or shortcuts.

Hello, make sure you set the type of the body of the article to text. I have added a few screenshots, it worked for me after I made that adjustment.

If you wanted to try to include the headings and links you could include a “create markdown from rich text” somewhere in there, but I am not sure how well it would display everything.

Thanks so much, that worked! I had to tweak it, because when I set the second variable, it was disconnected from the first by just dragging it in. However if I duplicated it from the above, then it was connected. I’m not sure why the workflow from shortcuts is that way. But when I did it the first time without the connection it ran fine, but left out the title. I’ll continue to experiment to see if I can get something more robust going.

Thanks again!
