Search bar & other UI toolbar elements

A bit of feedback based on my usage.

I’d like the Agenda UI to conform more closely with the MacOS design language.

Firstly among it the changes are search bar and formatting pallette. I would be happier if those elements were part of the toolbar rather than popup windows. I would like to see all menu functions become available as toolbar icons that could be added per the user need.

What I want to be able to see at all times are

  • the search bar
  • collapse and uncollapse notes
  • sorting
  • formatting
  • making notes pop out and stay on top

Thank you for attention

We prefer to keep a cleaner interface, so having things like editing bars permanently visible would be jarring for many customers.

But we hear you, and have made it possible to tear off the formatting palette. Just show it on the Mac, and drag it from the top to have it be permanent.

We plan to do the same for search, but just didn’t get to that yet.

Collapse and expand is very simple. Just double tap the top of the note. There is no need for any controls there.

We’ll take a long your suggestions, but it seems like a very specific list of features that you like to use. I doubt it would work for everyone, and if you make every single feature visible, you end up with something out of the windows world

Hopefully we can find a good balance. Try the tear off palette to start with and see if you like that.

Hi there!

I wanted to share some thoughts about the app. I’ve noticed a couple of things while using it in full screen mode—sometimes the pop-up windows can be a bit tricky. I also think that adding some borders around the clickable elements might help users easily spot all the fantastic features you’ve included.

As a big fan and annual supporter of the app, I appreciate all the hard work that goes into it! However, I’ve found that the menu naming and organization could be a bit more intuitive for quick access. It can sometimes feel like there’s quite a bit of menu-diving and searching involved. I’ve seen how companies like Windows and Apple offer customizable toolbars, which really help users access needed features more easily while keeping things tidy.

Thank you for considering this feedback, and keep up the great work!
