Hi,
I’ve spent a bit more than two years using Windows- and Android-devices, therefore I didn’t use Agenda for a while.
Now I’m using Apple devices again and wanted to come back to Agenda. After installing, it opened as if I never used it before - without any notes, neither in iOS nor on macOS. I can’t remember that I deliberately deleted anything from my iCloud (it’s the same iCloud-account as before), and I wouldn’t go into the app and delete everything from there. so I am a bit puzzled about where the data went.
Did something change in the storage structure in Agenda during the past like two years and because of me not using some versions in between, I missed a migration path? Or is there any other possible reason for this?
Sincerely,
Chris
Hi Chris, if this is a new machine and you cleared Agenda from iCloud, indeed that could explain things, so best to start if you check whether your iCloud still contains an Agenda folder. What is it sizes if you go to the system preferences → iCloud → Manage Account Storage? Also, more or less how many notes/projects did you have at the time?
Hi Alexander,
it says that Agenda is using 1,2 MB of storage right now. I had about 2-3 projects with around 10-15 notes per project back then. Now, after starting with the “empty Agenda”, I have created 2 notes so far.
I can’t remember that I did clean anything from my iCloud back when I switched to the Windows device, the data from all other apps (for example Bear, Voice Memos, Apple Notes, etc.) is still there.
Sincerely,
Chris
That is not very much data for Agenda. Do you have another device with the data?
Right now I am using an iPhone and a MacBook, but as I currently have only created 2 notes since the involuntary “fresh start”, I’d say 1,2 MB is what I would expect.
Previously, it was a similar constallation, I had an iPhone, a MacBook and a Mac Mini. With all three I made a factory reset before I sold them, but I didn’t delete any data from iCloud.
If you are still using the same iCloud account, the data should be there, unless you removed it by deleting directly in the iCloud settings, or you turned off the sync inside of Agenda, in which case it asks if you want to remove the iCloud data.
The last option is that you were using Dropbox to sync. Could that be it?
