Print with page breaks between Agenda items

Is there any way to Print with page breaks between Agenda notes?

Or selectively print Agenda Notes?

Thanks,

Rob

You can print notes individually, if you click the gear icon on the note. Don’t know about a page break between multiple notes, sorry!

You can create, in this case, a new category ‘Transfers for Composits’ with a project “Reports”.

Select and duplicate each note from anywhere and add the copy to the “Reports” project,1 by 1. You can then print the composit project as a PDF if you want. It’s is a PITA but gets it done. You’ll need a PDF app to create page breaks for each.

There is unfortunately no built-in way to print multiple notes with page breaks between them. As trebso noted, you can print notes individually via the gear icon on the note, but when you print or export a whole project to PDF, it runs as continuous content.

We have had other requests for better PDF/print control, and it is something we would like to improve. I’ll take it along.

In the meantime, BruceN’s workaround of printing individual notes and stitching the PDFs together is probably the best option.

You could export the note as RTF, open in another app like Word, and handle page breaks that way too.

Obsidian can do that. Using the /break command (third-party extension), you can force a page break at the desired location. It works simply and effectively.

Perhaps a text command like \break or \break-page can do exactly the same thing in Agenda.

You can find applets on the web that are made for this purpose. Once it’s a pdf it’s quite difficult. I really can’t speak to their specifics.

There is currently an alternative solution.

  • At the point where you want to force a page break, insert a heading that contains, for example, three dots … or similar unobtrusive characters, or simply the page number.
  • Insert several blank lines after it to specify the actual break point (you’ll need to experiment a bit with the number of lines).
  • Now, use the Folding Note Sections feature to hide the heading with the three dots, which will also hide the blank lines.
This results in only a minimal visual change to the original note.
  • When printing, the hidden blank lines adjust the content to fit the page layout.

It takes a little work, but I found the result to be quite acceptable.

If I upgrade to Pro and export to Markdown, will I be able to export all my notes from 2026 (as an example) as separate Markdown files? Or does it unlock more print capability?

You have two options:

  1. Export a project as a Markdown file containing all associated notes. The order of the notes in the file can be set in advance by sorting the notes within the project.
  2. Export each note as a separate Markdown file.

The Premium version removes only the watermark from printouts and exported PDFs.
