I don’t see a “paste special” option in Agenda. I’m trying to paste the url from a browser without the hyperlinks, i.e., the long form text url. Is anyone aware of a workaround or am I missing something?

There is “remove link”, but Agenda / macOS / iOS will typically put the link back in if you edit text nearby - either press return, use an arrow, something like that.
The only consistent method that I know of is to use fixed width text: press cmd-L to toggle fixed width on, then paste it in. It does display differently a bit differently from normal text, I don’t know if that’s a deal-breaker for you.
We hope to bring support for escaping link parsing in an update later this year, currently the preformatted or fixed width styles are the only way I’m afraid.
Update: this is now possible in Agenda 14 by first typing a “” character and then pasting the link
