Organising the Agenda windows usine Apple Shortcuts

Hello

I use Agenda as a my prime note taking system at work. I have organized it in such way I have 1 note for each of all the pople I work with and then off course notes by projects and other topics.

often I find myself having to add the same line item to multiple notes (say one topic that I need to cover with 4 employees in individual discussion)

to do this effectively I would like to open the 4 notes at the same time (in separate windows) and position the windows side by side or tiled. I think I shodul be able to do this with Apple Shortcuts but I seem not be able to get it to work

is there another solution to this use case or maybe a hint how to make it work with Apple Shortcuts

I don’t think we have an automatic way to open the windows. You could try posting in the Shortcuts category to see if someone has tried that.

You can link between notes (type [[ and use autocomplete). Once linked, notes should appear in the “Related Notes”. You can get this effect also by tagging or using people tags in each note.

Perhaps that helps a bit, at least with finding the other notes fast. You can then right-click in Related Notes to “Open in Separate Window”. Not automatic, but probably quite a bit faster.

Thanks

i am actually able to open notes in separate window directly using the Apple Shortcuts, and I belive I can open multiple notes/window in that automation. what I struggle with is how to position the windows on screen, they seem to end up in some random order

Not sure, but perhaps if you can put a small delay in the shortcut between open commands, it will be more predictable. I have used that type of thing in the past with other apps.

I think you would have to use the ‘move window action’ in your shortcut after each employee note is opened.
You can also open multiple notes in one window from multi projects or different categories.
@drewmccormack, One thing which would be helpful here, in some of my own instances, and posts from others is regarding the append function shortcut. It would be nice to have ‘Append’ as an editing menu command especially for multi selected notes. Append is basically a blind paste not based on the cursor position?

Append indeed always puts something at the end regardless of cursor. It is used in shortcuts, because it has to work without Agenda even showing a window.

Did you want Append as an in-app menu item? Don’t think I’ve seen that. A cursor is much more powerful.
