What I did: Added a reminder to a note
What happened: In the screen I have no option to select a date. I thought it never existed until I saw a screenshot of date picker sliders in the bottom half of the screen.
What I expected: Date picker sliders!
If you tap the time next to the alarm bell icon (where it says 00:00) in the screenshot, it should reveal the date picker you are referring to.

No, this isn’t possible yet directly from within Agenda indeed.
Indirectly, I think, is possible thru calendar because Cal and Fantastical don’t project the next repeat until the current one is checked. They are also now selectable as ToDo OR Event. You need to separate your calendar groups into todo and event. I use “Reminder” cal for the infrequent quick reminder, “Todo” cal for checklist items and “Tasks” cal go to OmniFocus. You can mark it done in Agendas’ timeline or calendar app or fantastical.
