What I did:
A couple of weeks ago when editing a note, I was pleasantly surprised after typing in a math expression like 10 + 10 = , Agenda suggested the solution “20” and I just had to hit tab to accept.
Has this feature been removed in a recent update?
What happened:
When I tried to enter an expression 80-18.5 = , nothing happened
What I expected:
Agenda to suggest the result of the sum.
Things that might be helpful to know (Agenda version, OS and model, etc):
Version 22.2.1 (389) - Mac App Store
Apple Notes has a similar feature
For example, when I enter 1+1=, a result is displayed after the =.
However, when I use the Del key to go back and correct the equation, for example to 1+2=, no result is displayed. This also happens when I delete the = and re-enter it.
This works perfectly in Apple Notes.
I’m not sure if this is actually an Agenda problem.
CotEditor, for example, has a similar problem.
Edit: I think it has something to do with the text formatting.
In the bulleted list, an equation at the very beginning of the line after the bullet point (-) is calculated incorrectly. Bullet points (-) are included in the calculation.
In the checklist, the result is only displayed once, as I described above.
Yes, that is actually an OS feature rather than something we built. Glad you figured it out!
The issues with bullet points that Roms noticed are probably because the OS is including the bullet character in the calculation. We don’t have a lot of control over that, but I’ll see if there is anything we can do on our end.
