Mac equivalent of iOS ruler

What I expected: on iPad editing a note brings up a ‘style ruler’. This includes a ‘+’ icon which displays a pop-up menu for many useful things such as current time, reminder etc…

But, I cannot find an equivalent on the Mac. Am I missing something, or does it not exist? If not, could I make a request to add it in the future?

On Mac you find a similar menu if you click the little circle left of the text:
