Would like to add to others’ desire to link notes in iOS. This is available in macOS. For iOS, I would want to have a feature to tap on the note revealing the “Insert” menu → “Link” menu → “Link to Selected Note”.
This feature is available already, in two ways.
If you have selected the note you want to link to, the select the gear menu in the bottom left → Copy As → Agenda Link. Then go to the note you want to contain the link and paste the link at the location you want.
Alternatively, if you have the note selected that you want to link from, then what you describe is exactly what you can do already. Tap the plus icon in the bar above the keyboard → tap the link icon → select the project and note you want to link to.

Is there a way to make a note that is linked to a project show in in the project as a related note? It doesn’t make sense that it doesn’t show up. The project only shows up in the note as related. Ideally, I should be able to have meetings, emails. notes, etc. linked to a project and the project shows all things linked to it.
You mean you have a project that contains a note, and you want the note to appear in related notes when you have the project selected?
I think that would just make related notes not very usable. If every note in a project appears there, there wouldn’t be room for notes with backlinks and similar tags etc.
The best way to find a note in current project is to tap the project title at the top of the list. It gives you a table of contents/menu showing all the notes in the project. I believe it also works with type filtering to find what you want and jump to it quickly. Maybe that helps with your use case.
No, I have a category for meetings, emails, notes, etc. and another for projects. When I make a new meeting note in the meeting category and tag a project, it should show up in the project’s related notes since they are indeed related at that point.

Tags are related to searching and identifying, not a function of linking.

The related section is a result of linking. It shows the links that the current note is linked to or from.

Linking takes you to the destination not the destination to you. All you would have in a category of projects is Project A, Project B…C…which would contain only links to each individual meeting note, email etc.
You could separate the links to mail, meeting notes and whatever into a single note using headers or in one note for mail, one for meetings but @drewmccormack point still stands. Personally I would have a “Projects” category > “Project A” sub category > one project for mail, one project for meetings etc.> containing a note for each individual item.
