What I did: Linked to calendar
What happened:Assigned date appeared in the upper right
What I expected: An item would be linked to calendar

What is the difference in function been Assigned date and link to be calendar?
Not all notes have a date, and even the ones with a date don’t necessarily have to be attached to a calendar event. So you can assign a date without any calendar event.
That said, if you want a calendar event, you can link a note to an event in the calendar, and — if you have the premium features — you can also create a new calendar event for a note straight from in Agenda.
