Actually it was happening to me at the beginning of a Note. I went back and tested some more on other Notes and (1) it didn’t seem to happen in the middle or end of a long Note, but (2) always happens in the beginning of a newly created Note.
(Don’t worry I can work around it by not using contractions, but seeing that I use them ‘often’ I’ll go back whenever you get it fixed. 
But the beginning of a newly create note is also the end of the note, correct? 
Anyway, I think I have been able to fix this. Submitting it now as 8.0.1.

You think it might be Lorentz contraction? I suspect it is NSString contraction.
Update: We have just released the 8.0.1, which is propagating through the App Store as we speak, and that should fix the issue, let us know if that’s indeed the case.
