It is a bit heavy on the purse strings!

Expensive

Firstly kudos to the team for integrating Notes, Reminders and Calendars into one app.

Growing up in the eighties Steve Jobs was my Superhero and I mean it when I say this - the app is the hallmark of what Apple stands for - clean, efficient design. Steve would have been proud. Period.

However, the only people who will currently pay for this wonderful app (at the price) are those who can afford it. Not those who like to use it, work with it and provide honest feedback, but simply users who will pay for it and then forget about it in a week.

Three stars only because it is bordering on extortionate when it comes to price.

Thank you.

Thanks for the encouragement! It’s appreciated.

Note that if we do not make a living from this software, there is no software. Hate to put it so bluntly, but we need income to keep working on it, and nobody is getting rich from this app. It’s something that pays the bills, and we love developing (and using!) it. We need people to pay licenses, otherwise that can’t happen.

Note that the app is actually completely free to install, on all devices, and to use with full iCloud sync. You can’t say that of most 3rd party note taking apps. You also get free updates and bug fixes forever. That’s a pretty good deal in my eyes.

Yes, there are premium features. We pick the features so they are never essential to using the app. They are more nice-to-haves. So using the basic free version is absolutely fine. It’s already a powerful app, with most of the same features.

The price is comparable to our competitors, and we are the only note taking app that I know of that has a policy that once you unlock a feature, it is yours forever. You could subscribe for one year, unlocking all features up to that point, and keep those features forever even if you cancel. Pretty sweet deal (as SJ would say )

I can honestly, enthusiastically say Agenda is the nest/catalyst/caretaker for my entire life. (I couldn’t decide on a descriptor, so I used them all.) It is worth every single penny. I’m a Premium account holder. I’d make that choice again in a hot minute.

I have moved back to native Notes, cleverly combining them with reminders and events. I have a lot of hobbies and eclectic sources on all, so need native access to gifs, videos and pdfs all from the app. I agree though, agenda is a great app, but to each their own!

If a purchase helps me with my day job and my personal life, the investment is well worth the price.

The benefits gained from using Agenda has been well worth the price. I spent the annual fee because I know that Agenda has made my life so much easier.

Yes, I’ve tried using Apple Notes for customer notes, maintenance history for my duplex rentals, and managing my medical history. But it’s so much easier for me to use Agenda for that now.

Hey guys, great (really great) app - and your price policy is awesome. So thanks a lot.

It’s wild for someone to login here just to post this when the app is $35 for a year of premium updates. Many apps in this space are close to $10/mo. It’s evident that it’s created with care and intention, and is not some cash grab. It’s frustrating that people want great things, but still complain that it costs money for them to function.

First of all I didn’t come here to complain about it. Your assumption is wrong. If you had just seen my other posts you would know.

So here’s the truth. It is Wild to come here to just create discord by making someone look bad even if they are posting an honest review. That is the way of the world. Just post something pretending to be the moral guardian, and hey, who knows you might get a fan following.

how did you combine notes with reminders and calendar? are you using ProNotes Extensions to get the deep links and then manually putting them attached to the url sections of each reminder and calendar event?

Made these two shortcuts:

  1. Adds any note with #RemindMe tag to Reminders. It also adds a url (not deep link) to a second shortcut that then opens the associated note from reminders. It also adds a “processed” marker to a note that has already been added to reminders to avoid duplication.
  2. The second shortcut just opens the note when url is clicked from reminders.

Shortcut 1 Shortcuts

Shortcut 2 Shortcuts

Might seem like cheating to some but it really works!!!

That’s a very useful set of Shortcuts. Thanks for posting. I do agree that Agenda’s price structure is pretty reasonable, though.

I agree, its a great app and great price. My special requirements need me to embed videos and watch them from within notes though - which is why I have no choice but iOS notes default app. Haven’t heard of any other app that embeds a youtube video into a note and enables the user to watch it without leaving the note.

I legit just tried to look into switching from Agenda back to a mix of Things 3 and the Notes app and it’s a fact that Agenda really does meet (just about*) all of my productivity needs. The cost is worth it. (Also, reminder, if you use it for work, it should be tax deductible, so there’s that. :woman_shrugging:)

*Like others here, I’m patiently waiting for a webapp so I can seamlessly use Agenda on my work PC. That will be a most epic updated if/when it happens.

Thank you!

I can’t comment on the OP’s age, but I’ve noticed that many younger individuals today often anticipate free offerings. My aim with this post isn’t to undermine yours.

Having invested in a premium subscription for a year and soon transitioning to a lifetime plan, I believe the value of the cost is ultimately determined by the time you save, the level of organization you achieve, and all the benefits in between.

Although I reside outside the US with a currency that is significantly weaker than the dollar, I believe that Agenda is quite reasonably priced. For instance, if we consider the minimum wage to be $15 an hour in the US - acknowledging that this can vary by state - an investment of $100 for a lifetime access (or even on a yearly basis) seems quite affordable.

For just one day’s work, you can secure a lifetime deal on an app that will ultimately save you both time and money in the long run. It truly adds up!

You can always take advantage of the free features available.

Thanks for the support.

Yes, something many forget is that Agenda is free to use, on all your devices, forever. You don’t get every feature, but the features you get are the most important ones. The premium ones are usually nice-to-haves.

Note also that if you don’t want to pay every year, you don’t have to. Our model allows you to pay for one year, cancel your subscription, and keep all the premium features you unlocked. You just miss the very new ones we add. Pretty good deal!
