This morning I was thinking that the iOS app would look so much better if the background to the pencil was white. It’s just too much damn orange. Then this evening I was watching the Apple design awards (congrats by the way; not even a little surprised!) and I got to see the Agenda icon with a white background in the keynote! And it looks as good as I expected!
Right now Agenda is the ugliest app icon outside a folder on my phone. It deserves better. <3

We feel the icon fits iOS well, I guess it’s in the end a matter of taste, which is different for all of us and also depends on the background you picked, which too is different for everybody. So far you’re the first who gives us this feedback I’m afraid.
Many iOS apps these days give a choice of icons. PocketCast and Overcast are two that come to mind. So I know it is possible to allow the user to choose the icon (with limitations)…how about that?
