How about displaying an image aside text? Saves lots of space and i think it would really improve working and reading.
Can you explain “aside”? Do you mean in the text, with the text wrapping around?
We are actually quite happy with the options we added. You can choose for full sized images, but also for thumbnails and even an inline token which is very compact.
If you allow images to mix with text, it can become quite messy, as anyone who has worked with MS Word will know. The anchor point of the image is difficult to control. We wanted something that looked good, but was also easy to use.

I understand the design choices that you guys made. Maybe with the table feature suggestion, that I read in another topic, an image could be displayed in a cell to keep it from getting messy.
