How to create local backup

What I did:
Looked at the app menu

What happened:
didn’t find a backup option

What I expected:
to have a backup option that will create a local backup file

Things that might be helpful to know (Agenda version, OS and model, etc):
I know that I can select all notes and export to Agenda file. Is this the right way? will it keep the categories as well?

Eran.

If you use Time Machine, it will backup agenda for you.

If you want to do a manual backup, try this:

  1. Click on Finder
  2. Choose Go > Go to Folder
  3. Enter ~/Library/Group Containers
  4. Find WRBK2Z2EG7.group.com.momenta.agenda.macos and select it
  5. Copy with Edit > Copy
  6. Go to your backup location in Finder, and choose Edit > Paste

Kind regards,
Drew

I did this move, got my back-up folder - but cannot get it to reload into program.

used your reset tool to clear icloud and dropbox.

lib container gone. add back my back-up folder back to lib container, relaunch Agenda - no data??

Hmm, and the project you drag in there does remain in Finder, or does it get deleted? If it gets deleted, consider trying it again, but changing one of the letters in the name first: eg. If the project folder is “ABCDE”, change it to “ACCDE”. Just a small one letter change. Maybe that will cause the app to see it as a new project.

If not, let me know. Maybe I can get the data, if you are willing to send it to me.

Kind regards,
Drew

Hi Drew, i want to ask if this is still the same process for catalina and subsequently monterey?

Yes, it should remain the same.

Agena should have a proper backup feature - creating a nice, password protected Zip file.
