What happened: The data portion of the Agenda app in iOS is around 330MB. For text and some small sized screenshots, I’d say this is a large file. I have noticed some slowness when I unlock Agenda app. While this happens mostly with my (now obsolete) iPad, I’m wondering if there’s a way to batch delete older entries to trim the fat. I do not own a Mac computer.
Things that might be helpful to know (Agenda version, OS and model, etc):
Agenda v20.0.1 (337)
iOS v16.7.10
iPad model: iPad Pro 1st gen
Deleting text and notes usually will not remove their data. The exception is projects. If you delete a whole project, its data is removed, once you empty trash.
No, the archiving simply moves it to the Archived section, which makes your list of projects less cluttered. So that won’t help with data size, I’m afraid.
Just curious. So the deleted items bits are flagged as such when the trash is emptied but is it ever flushed or waiting to be overwritten? I’m thinking about those multi-Mb attachments some people use. I assume the flagged memory is non-addressable but still exists on disk space along with the other items that have been sent to the trash and emptied. Projects must be flagged when you hit the delete button rather than sitting in the trash waiting for recovery. But still taking disk space? I’m obviously not a programmer, just curious!
Now though, my interest for another day, is how much volatile memory is freed up when you delete in the current project?
