What I did: I would like be able to email using some personalised agenda email address into Agenda to create a new note. This is possible with e.g. OmniFocus.
What happened: not applicable
What I expected: as above. Is this a feature on your roadmap?
Things that might be helpful to know (Agenda version, OS and model, etc): Agenda 19, MacOS Sonoma 14.5, MacBook Pro.
Because Agenda isnāt a web app, but a native on-device app, this is more difficult to implement. We donāt have plans to do it now, but it is an option for the future.
What situation do you need this for? Are you away from your Apple devices?
There are a bunch of ways to get data into Agenda if you are on an apple device. We support widgets and sharing extensions for example.
We will see if we can add the email support to a future update.
Thanks Drew. I am never away from my apple devices, but I find emailing key emails that contain important information into notes (I used evernote before) helpful. What other ways do you suggest with widgets/shared extensions?
Eg. There is a āFavorite Noteā widget, which will immediately open a note of your choice when tapped on your home screen.
What I do is have a special Inbox type of note in Agenda, where I drop things I need to sort out later. I have a favorite setup for that, so I go to that note immediately with one click, then paste in the info, or write something. Later, when I have time I go through and clear out the inbox note.
Sharing extensions are more for when you have some info in another app, and want to get it into Agenda. You can copy and paste, but you can also bring up our sharing extension the same way you might create an email with the info, and drop the info into Agenda directly instead of emailing it via the share sheet.
This may or may not be helpful, but I thought Iād just throw it out there anyway. If you are a pro subscriber to the app Drafts, they have a feature called Mail drop that gives you a unique email address that you can send emails directly into Drafts. In Drafts, there is an action to send a draft to Agenda. The default action send it to a project called inbox, but I believe you can customize that.
I use this feature from my windows machine at work anytime I need to get something into Agenda during the day.
Another method of getting emails into Agenda is by using Spark.app. Spark has a number of app integrations, including Agenda. Iām finding it pretty useful.
