Disappearing image

What I did:
Opened an image that was in a note, added some text using Preview’s markup tools then closed Preview, saving my changes.

What happened:
The image in the note is now displayed as a placeholder. I can still open the image in Quicklook or Preview to see it, but I only see the placeholder in the note. Changing the display option (Thumbnail, Full Width etc) doesn’t make a difference.

What I expected:
See the updated image.

Things that might be helpful to know (Agenda version, OS and model, etc):
MacOS 26.4 (25E246), Agenda Version 22.3 (393) - Mac App Store

Hmm, nasty. Sorry about that.

Is this reproducible? If you try it again, does it still disappear?

If so, is it related to the note only containing an image and nothing else?

Do you have any tools that cleanup the Downloads folder or something like that?

Kind regards,
Drew

I don’t have any tools cleaning up the downloads folder. It’s not 100% reproducible but seems to happen occasionally after making an edit when closing the Image popover.

It’s not the end of the world because I can always restore the image preview by making another edit to it. But it did give me a fright when I thought I’d lost the image for good!

Thanks for the details and the video! Glad the image isn’t actually lost.

What you say is interesting: You make a new edit, and then it reappears. That’s definitely a clue.

We’ll take a look and see if we can track it down. It could be a timing issue with the file update. We’ll take it along for a future fix.
