\date doesn’t seem to work properly

What I did:
I want to insert a date (today or tomorrow or whatever) so I used \date(today) or \date(1 week).

What happened:
When I type that and hit the space, the “\date(today)” string disappears, but is not replaced by today’s date. (Blank)

What I expected:
That my shortcut be replaced by today’s date.

Things that might be helpful to know (Agenda version, OS and model, etc):

Version 13.0 (build 187). This works perfectly on my ipad, but not on macOS

Does it help if you type \date(format: default) once? There might have been a wrong date format stored, we fixed this in Agenda 13 but it might need this one time reset. Also note that \date(1 week) should be \date(in: 1 week)

That was it! Thank you.

Maybe I am doing it wrong??

\date(Thursday) makes it disappear?

You’ll find the supported syntax here: Creating and Using Templates - #4 by system

\date will insert the current date into the text, unless you use some of the parameters to the choose a different date than today. In this case it sounds like you would want to use \date(for: Thursday). If you don’t provide a parameter (like in: or for:), Agenda assumes what you enter is a date format according to this standard: UTS #35: Unicode LDML: Dates
