Create a “This Week” overview?

Reading your question again, I now think I see what you mean, you’d like a grouping option in the overviews, per day, instead of per project, correct? That isn’t yet possible indeed, but would make sense to add when we allow for more options in this area.

Alternatively, is there a syntax for searching by week number? I tried W17 and Week 17, but couldn’t get to the right outcome. Might this somehow work?

Not at the moment no.

Can I create a search for this week now?
This is a very useful feature. I can open this overview every day of the week to check all the things I have done that week

You can.
Open a “search all", select the last seven days prior to “today” on the calendar, select “uncompleted” (if you like) then save as an overview. A pop-up will ask to save the search with absolute or relative dates; pick relative.

And you’re done.

The point is to open this overview every day of the week to check all my “current week” items.
Now it can only be associated with dates, not “weeks”

A relative date moves over time, as the current date changes. Tomorrow will always be the day after the current date.

Or put it this way, I need a relative week, not a date

Okay, sorry.
Second time I made this mistake!
(it seems I just can’t grasp the curious powers of week-numbers …)

Sorry, I didn’t describe it clearly at the beginning.

is there any plans for this feature? It’s a very strong need for me.

@mekentosj TAL?

If I understand correctly, imagine the following (made up) weeks:
wk1 Mon 1 jan - Sunday 7 jan
wk 2 Mon 8 jan - Sunday 14 jan

Do I understand that you would want a “Current Week” filter that would show the following date ranges:
On Mon 1 Jan → All notes on Mon 1 to Sunday 7 Jan
On Wed 3 Jan → All notes on Mon 1 to Sunday 7 Jan
On Sat 6 Jan → All notes on Mon 1 to Sunday 7 Jan

On Mon 8 Jan → All notes on Mon 8 to Sunday 14 Jan
On Fri 12 Jan → All notes on Mon 8 to Sunday 14 Jan
On Sun 14 Jan → All notes on Mon 8 to Sunday 14 Jan

Correct?

Yes, that’s exactly what I want.

Even, in addition to “Current Week”, I would like to have Previous Week?

Cheers, we’ll do our best to come up with something

I can’t speak for the European folks, and I don’t know how your example works if week 1 of a year starts on Tuesday…

but what I want is a smart overview that matches the behavior of the “This Week” filter. I believe there’s a “week starts on” setting that allows Sunday or Monday (and maybe any other day?).

“This Week”, “Next Week”, “Last Week” filters (and the month ones) already do exactly what I want. They just need to be incorporated into overviews.

The current filters work simply by adding or subtracting 7 days from the date you enter (if you make them relevant), although you can of course simply mark the day range representing the week and save the week as absolute days. However what you are looking for is basically a relative “week” filter as described above (and yes, taking of course into account what a week means based on the “week starts on Mon/Tue etc” setting.

Right, the overview filters work that way.

I’m saying that the calendar picker already has the right settings, they just need to be applied to overviews.

Not sure I follow, you can use the same filter here and then save as an overview, correct?

It’s just that upon saving this becomes a relative filter compared to “today”, while instead it should become a relative filter to the first day of the current week.

Correct - that is my request from the first post!

this would be great

I wonder if there is any follow-up progress or plan for this feature?

We hope to make this part of a bigger search overhaul that we have planned.
