Bug with tags an umlauts

What I did:

  • tried to enter the tag #güte
    What happened:

  • after the umlaut „ü“ the tag was created, i ended up with a tag #gü instead of #güte
    What I expected:

  • to have a tag with umlauts
Things that might be helpful to know (Agenda version, OS and model, etc):

  • ios 14.2 iphone 12

Is there any news on this problem? By the way, it only occurs on iOS and iPadOS for me.

We already support tags with umlauts on the Mac, but it looks like things work differently on iOS in terms f how text is edited, that’s still something we’re looking into.

Hi Alex,
Thanks for your reply. Maybe the problem will be solved with the introduction of “tag-auto-completion”. In the meantime, I am using the following work-around:

  1. Write the tag as normal text (without the #).
  2. Select the text.
  3. Convert the text into a tag by using the (+) menu above the onscreen keyboard.

Best regards
Helmut

Cheers, a good workaround, but indeed we hope to get it to work directly as it does on the Mac
