App hangs when searching

What I did: updated via AppStore to 19.0 (302)

What happened: start is ok with “on the agenda” selected left. But every click, where the search / filtering will be used the app hangs

What I expected: a working app :slight_smile:

It is working now, after deactivating calendar access in system settings and reactivate it.

This method doesn’t work for me. I didn’t even have the Calendar access activated. Activating, deactivating, and re-activating the Calendar access didn’t help.

The search started to hang since the introduction of the new search feature. This issue happens only on my work computer, where the macOS is modified by my job for security. Maybe my job put some restrictions on Spotlight and it is causing this issue, but I am not sure. The Agenda search works fine on my personal computer.

Ah, we indeed had a report from someone else who reported that his computer was managed by the college and that gave issues with Spotlight

Do you have a plan to fix this issue? If you need any help in figuring out the cause of the issue, please let me know.

Unfortunately this is a configuration issue it seems, and as such not something that is likely we can work around :frowning:

OK, but maybe try? I have the same issue. Maybe if spotlight isn’t work at least a basic text search would be something. Or disable it entirely? This way agenda hangs whenever you put a character on the search box.

I can imagine your frustration, but a complete rewrite of search is a lot of work. We’ll consider what we can do to improve things.

Are you sure your issue with Spotlight can’t be helped? We had some other customers who had issues with work computers, and they were able to get it working, though it wasn’t so easy.

I don’t even know what the problem is. you say it could be related to spotlight? There is now way I can focus on search, the app just hangs until I kill it

Is this just a personal laptop, or is it managed by an employer or school? We have had people tell us that using Remote Desktop can corrupt spotlight causing this.

Is Spotlight working in other apps?
