App freezes when selecting text for share sheet within a note on iPad

What I did: selected a line of text within a note. Attempted to click on “Share” option. Tested this multiple times.

What happened: Every time without fail, the app froze completely without opening the share sheet

What I expected: To share selected text as tasks within a note to Omnifocus

Things that might be helpful to know (Agenda version, OS and model, etc): Using Agenda beta on Ipad Pro M4, iPad OS 26.2)

Works fine here. The selected text is pasted as the title of a new task in the inbox. I prefer:

Control+Option+Space bar works on Mac, even if OmniFocus is not the front most application, as long as it is running. The shortcut can be customized in [General Settings]

Seems like they may be different iOS versions you are both using.

Just to confirm: this happens with any note, in any project, or just to specific note(s)?

Thanks Drew - it seems to be in any note in my case, in any project.

I also noticed at work today, it crashed twice just by trying to create a new markdown task in a note that was linked to my work calendar.

Additional information: I’m using Agenda beta, and work calendar is linked to Outlook only by a subscription to my work calendar (can’t edit, add events to work directly, etc, only view) due to company restrictions. So could be a couple of unique reasons for the problem.

Just wanted to mention I’m seeing the issue occur specifically when Im using external keyboard with the iPad in these scenarios:

  • Opening app and turning external BT keyboard on and then trying to type in Agenda
  • “Device switching” on my external keyboard (which is connected to work PC and my Mac as well) almost always causes issues on Agenda on the iPad specifically - whether selecting text, entering text, or any editing

Thanks for the extra info.

If you had to prepare one experiment for me to do which will almost certainly trigger the issue, what would it be? The less involved the better. (Eg. attaching an external screen is going to take a lot more effort.)

Sorry for not getting back sooner! What Im still seeing is the “surest” trigger seems to be:

  • opening a specific note in Agenda
  • connecting an external BT keyboard
  • once keyboard is connected, select some text to edit and begin editing / writing

75% of the time this causes the app to freeze and close for me, so would be curious if its something specific to my devices (not Agenda-related) or not. I’ve not noticed this issue in other apps so far but I also dont write a bunch outside of Agenda or Scrivener.

And that happens to with any note, or is it a very specific note with some characteristics? (eg has attachments, a table etc)

Seems to be happening in any notes. I did a few tests with different types of notes (templates, notes with sheets, attachments) and issue seems to be the same. I’ve even tried swapping out the BT keyboard but no changes yet.

To be clear, this is not the standard iPad keyboard, but a BT keyboard like you would have with a Mac, correct?
