Allow self numbered-lists without autonumbering

I simply am trying to write:

  1. yadda yadda yadda….

but as soon as I write “2” and my dot, and I press SPACE, it automatically gets switched to a “1”, and there is absolutely no way I can get it to be a 2.

Indeed, as it stands we don’t allow numbered lists to start from a different number, perhaps in the future.
