Add a Command Window

Lots of apps are adding command windows (CMD-K). It makes learning all the shortcuts so much easier by making it easy to search for the action you want to take without needing to remember under which menu bar it is or which keyboard shortcut. I really hope you guys add this.

As a side note, your keyboard shortcut list is not searchable. Argh!!! :-).

I’ve had this menu bar app for about a year. Not perfect but is the best of its kind I’ve seen yet. Free but you can contribute according to your conscience.

In addition to KeyClu as @BruceN mentioned, there is Paletro that gives you a command palette in any app with ⇧⌘P. It’s a paid app ($7 US) and in SetApp if you use that

Good suggestions. I have used both of these but I still think the app needs a proper command window.

Something you might be interested in is our action menu. Just type a backslash inside a note, and you should get an autocomplete menu with many commands.

Got it. I’m a keyboard-centric user. One thing I really like about apps with command windows is that it makes it so easy to find and learn keyboard shortcuts for stuff I do often. I’m using Paletro with Agenda, and that gets me pretty close to what I want. The problem with Paletro is that it will not include stuff you may not offer as a menu item. Just consider this for a future upgrade. I see this becoming standard in most apps in the future.

The action pop-up IS very handy. I don’t think I’ve ever used more than 3-4 letters to get what I want. One thing I like about KeyClu is I can hide individual menu items as I learn them.
