Make tables better

Can you elaborate on how you think it should look? I think the current tables are pretty typical for a note taking app. We looked at other apps when we were designing it.

If you like, you could upload a screenshot showing how you would like to see it. Can help us with future planning.

Hi there - for my heavy financials, I always use excel. I recently, however, needed to track hours for a project my brother and I were doing and I wanted to simply sum the hours in this subproject category but couldn’t. I don’t care about column lenghts/widths/height, etc. or pivot tables. Just a simple add, subtract would do. Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback! We’ll think about it. The trouble with adding spreadsheet facilities like SUM is that then everything thinks of it as a spreadsheet, and are disappointed when other spreadsheet stuff is not there. We’ll see what we can do.

Note that Apple did add some math to their autocorrect recently. You might find that if you write “1 + 2 + 3” etc that it provides an answer. Not what you want, but perhaps interesting.

Having a complete « spreadsheet functions » support will be overkill for Agenda, but maybe we can imagine a way to do simple calculation, inspired by what Notion does: in the bottom of a table (a database one), you have an extra line to do some basic functions (sum, number of items…).
This is elegant and offers suffisant help for most of the usage.

More sophisticated formulas will be out of the scope of Agenda anyway.
