What is the little orange tab that defaults when I put in a number?
It’s a tag, it’s because the shortcut for creating a tag is to start with a hash symbol, for example #important, results in the important tag. You probably types #4. We plan to add the option to escape parsing these in a future update but for now best workaround is to use for example - 4 or 4..
Or if you are trying to create a numbered list, type 1. at the start of first line and the list numbers will be automatically created for each item on the list.
