Text selection is lost when hitting cog button

If I select some text in a note, then hit the cog button (bottom right of a note), then cancel to go back to the note without doing anything, my text selection is lost.

How are you canceling? Are you clicking somewhere on the window, which then changes the selection?

One way to cancel without losing the selection is to hit Esc.

This is on iOS, sorry if I wasn’t clear. I’m cancelling by tapping the “cancel” button.
