I’d love to see Agenda’s quick date entry become more interactive.
Currently, when I add a date to a note, it’s inserted as plain text. It would be much more useful if the date could function as a clickable date link.
For example, if I use the slash comment to add 26 Sept 2026 to a note, it could appear as a tappable date. Tapping it would take me directly to that date’s page in Agenda, where I could see the notes and events associated with that day.
This would make dates much more useful as a way to connect notes and events across the app. Would also be a good way to see what else happened on a specific day.
Eg:
Currently:
Explore feature request
26 Sept 2026
Proposed:
Explore feature request
26 Sept 2026 (← tap to jump to that date)
Ideally, the date would behave like a native Agenda date item rather than plain text.
This could also make it easier to reference a date from one note while quickly jumping to the full context of that day, including other notes and events.
Craft has a similar interaction where dates can act as clickable references to a day’s page. I think bringing something like this to Agenda would fit the app’s timeline-based approach really well.
There is a method already built in. Put the cursor in the search field, select the date you want to use from the calendar then the blue filter button and you’ll have every note with that date. The even better news is that you’re already where you need to be to fine-tune the search result if needed.
BTW: The title / date block will accept only text, numerals, punctuation and a few others
There was a very similar discussion once.
Back then, it was basically about linking the content of a note to the calendar. This would make it possible, for example, to link a to-do list item or any paragraph in a note to a date or a date and time range.
The entire text block “Explore feature request 26 Sept 2026” would then be linked to the date 26 Sept 2026, and clicking on it would take you to the calendar. Conversely, the linked event in the calendar would open the note and take you directly to that text block, paragraph, etc.
Linking a date within a text to the calendar will work well in one direction. But going back from the calendar to the text in the correct note gets a bit messy if the date is used multiple times.
Thanks for the suggestion. Tapping a date in a note to jump to that day would be nice. As Roman says, the tricky part is going back the other way, when the same date turns up in lots of notes. We’ll take it along.
