I suggest, for both reminders and events, letting the user toggle between the default minute-by-minute interval and a new 5-minute interval.

I don’t see myself needing to be reminded about something at 5:43pm. More than likely, I’ll want to be reminded at 5:40pm or at 5:45pm.

Indeed, in the next update we have made the rounding slightly less fine-grained.
