Hyperlinks on notes

What I did: I added a few websites hyperlinks (URL) in the MD format

What happened: When I tap on them from my iPad they failed to launch web browser. It does work as expected on the Mac app.

What I expected: launch a web browser and load URL

Things that might be helpful to know (Agenda version, OS and model, etc): latest version from App Store, iOS 11 and macOS 10.13/10.14.

Does it help if you tap and hold the link? Or are you saying that some links work and some don’t? Finally, are these regular http or https URLs?

Thank you for your response, I tap but it changes to edit the note contents and not opening the link with the browser. Links only work if I click with a mouse on the Mac app. They are regular http URLs.

I might need to add that I’m not an experience Agenda user, my previous method of note taking was a combination of vi and dayone. That being said, if I paste the URL on the note by itself it drops or hides the http/https portion of the URL. I suppose it gets converted to something like text.

I might know what the problem is: there is an issue on iOS at the moment where links in markdown format can get shorted (altered) before the markdown is captured. This causes the link to be broken. Instead of http://apple.com, it would be apple.com, so it won’t open properly.

We will be fixing this soon. In the meantime, you may be best to avoid using the markdown syntax.

Thank you for your suggestion, I already started.

this has bitten me in the butt a few times outside of Agenda. Good luck!

I’m going to prioritize this. Should be in our next bug fix release. Sorry for the trouble.

No worries and no need to apologize. I am loving the app and look forward to the improvements. You and your team are one of…if not the…most responsive developers I have ever dealt with. Keep up the good work!

Is there a possibility of showing the full URL? I think the default on iOS and many other applications is to drop or hide the full URL.

It’s a bit tricky to implement it, I’m afraid, but we will consider it.
